Post Op Care

Reduce pain, swelling and inflammation, leading to faster healing, decreasing the risk of post surgery complications as fibrosis and unaesthetic scars.
Post surgery care is as important as the surgery itself. To reduce pain, swelling and inflammation, leading to faster healing, decreasing the risk of post surgery complications as fibrosis and unaesthetic scars. In post op care you will have access to manual therapies such as lymphatic drainage and fibrosis massage and advanced technologies such as MILIB, LED Therapy, Magneto therapy, Radio Frequency, Ultrasound and Ultra cavitation, that will help you to achieve the best and fastest outcomes.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

It’s a special massage that helps plastic surgery patients heal faster and better after any type of  surgery. Assists in alleviating swelling (known as edema), detoxifying, inducing a state of relaxation, decreasing pain and risk of post op complications.

24h after surgery, MLD can begin, under physician/doctor’s prescription.
If the post-surgery edema and inflammation is not managed properly it can lead to complications such as fibrosis and compromise the final result of the surgery.

Modified Intravascular Laser Irradiation (MILIB)

The use of red therapeutic laser transcutaneous has been a great option as an added therapeutic value to the treatment of various pathologies (photo biomodulation). Like hemotherapy, the treatment provides systemic stimuli and promotes antioxidant action, activation of the immune system (increased expression of immunoglobulins and interleukins), alteration of the pain threshold (increased release of endorphins and enkephalins, with consequent analgesic action in chronic pain) and acceleration of repair processes in post-operatives. It is a safe, painless and non-invasive treatment and has no side effects.

Magnetotherapy

Electromagnetic impulses will have the function of repolarizing the cell membrane (when the negative pole of a magnet is placed on a part of the body, it stimulates blood circulation, increasing oxygenation and transforming it into a positive energy pole) restoring physiological functioning and balance of the organism.
Increased blood circulation and oxygenation decrease inflammation and pain. The affinity for iron ions reduces bruises. It is a safe, painless and non-invasive treatment and has no side effects.

LED Therapy

The most suitable LEDs for post-operative treatments are red and green. The red LED has anti-inflammatory action, tissue regeneration, collagen stimulation. On the other hand, the green LED helps unblock lymphatic vessels, reducing edema and, it also helps to inhibit the formation of blemishes.

Fibrosis Massage

Some patients can develop fibrosis after undergoing liposuction, although the risk is low. Fibrosis may not show up right away, but typically it is characterized by contour irregularities you can see or feel. For some patients, the area may also be painful, or you may feel a pulling sensation when you move.
Fibrosis is an inflammatory skin reaction to swelling.  When the lymphatic system is compromised, removal of cellular waste from the tissue becomes stagnant, the skin hardens and becomes lumpy and pumps.

What is a fibrosis massage?

It is body work that involves using more pressure than manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). The manual techniques help break up scar tissue.

When you visit our therapists for a fibrosis treatment massage, you can expect the following:

· Deep tissue massage that penetrates your muscles.

· Focus on where the fibrosis is located.

· One-hour sessions on average.

Radio Frequency

At the beginning of each radiofrequency session, a cream is applied and then, with the help of the equipment, a current reaches the area to be treated, for fibroses treatment skin heating is expected to be between a maximum of 36 and 37 degree Celsius or 96.8 and 98.6 Fahrenheit, and it will remain that way for a few minutes. Throughout the session, the temperature is checked with a laser thermometer to ensure it remains constant. The heat in the area facilitates fibrotic massage and helps the reorganization of collagen fibers. It is a safe, painless and non-invasive treatment and has no side effects.

Ultrasound

Causes slight vibrations in the soft tissue which creates gas bubbles near the injury that expand and contract, a process called cavitation. This promotes healing by reducing swelling and inflammation due to injury, can also be used to break down the buildup of scar tissue, also known as fibrosis. It is a safe, painless and non-invasive treatment and has no side effects.

Ultra Cavitation

In the case of encapsulated seroma ultrasonic cavitation can be a treatment method. This involves the use of high-power ultrasound waves, causing disruptive vibrations stimulating fluid removal. Seromas can appear after any type of surgery, depending on how a person’s body recovers.  Encapsulated seroma is scar tissue which has developed around a seroma or fluid pocket. It is a safe, painless and non-invasive treatment and has no side effects.
